What does a Chiropractor do?
Chiropractors are Primary Healthcare Professionals, who focus of identifying conditions of the Neuro-musculoskeletal System, and treating them. Whilst there is an assumption that Chiropractors only treat the spine, many Chiropractors regularly and successfully treat musculoskeletal conditions outside of the spine.
On the most part Chiropractors will provide hands on care for treatment of the Musculoskeletal Conditions they diagnose. This can be in the form Chiropractic Adjustments, Soft Tissue Therapies and Electrotherapy's. However, our experienced Perth Chiropractors provide a therapeutic approach to care, and utilise a range of treatment techniques to optimise treatment outcomes. This approach will see your experienced Perth Chiropractor provide a combination of therapies, which can include both passive and active therapies. If you are experiencing back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, nerve pain or any other musculoskeletal condition, it is best to book in with the experienced Perth Chiropractor near you.
Chiropractic Adjustments
A chiropractic adjustment is the application of a specific force in a precise direction, applied skilfully to a spinal joint that is fixated, “locked up”, or not moving as it should. This can help improve or restore motion to the joint, helping the spine to gradually regain normal motion and function.
There are many ways to adjust the spine. Usually the chiropractor’s hands or a specially designed instrument delivers a brief and highly-accurate thrust. Some adjusting methods are quick, whereas others require a slow, constant or indirect pressure. Restoring better spinal function can help improve mobility, vitality, and endurance.
How are Chiropractors trained?
Chiropractors complete a 5 year tertiary education pathway, similar to that of physiotherapists, who complete 4 years. Chiropractic education generally involves an undergraduate and/or masters-level university training over a five year period. Once completed all Australian registered Chiropractors are required to complete continuing education to maintain their registration with AHPRA.
Our Approach to Treatment
Our experienced Perth Chiropractors provide a therapeutic approach to care, and utilise a range of treatment techniques to optimise treatment outcomes. This approach to treatment has been shown to be of benefit to people with a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Whilst each patient receives individualised care, many of our patients combine Chiropractic Adjustments with Dry Needling, Myofascial Cupping or other Muscle Release Therapies.
