FAQs

FAQS / ALL

At Harrisdale Chiropractic we consult with many patients who have varying healthcare backgrounds. Whilst many of our patients have experienced the benefits of Chiropractic care, we still see many patients that have not. We aim to cover any of the common questions we get on this page, however if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our friendly reception staff.

Can I use my private health?

Yes, as long as Chiropractic is listed on your individual private health policy. We also offer HICAPS facilities in clinic. This allows for instant rebates from your private health fund, meaning you are only out of pocket for the gap. As rebates will vary for each insurer and individual policy, it is recommended that you contact your policy holder for more information.

Will I be treated on my first visit?

In short, yes you will receive treatment on your first visit at Harrisdale Chiropractic. However as Chiropractors treat a wide range of muscolskeletal conditions, your practitioner may require further investigations,  This could be potentially any combination of X-Ray, Dexa Scan, CT or MRI, among others.

Do I need a GP referral?

Whilst many GP's will refer many of their patients to consult with a Chiropractor, you DO NOT require a referral to consult with a Chiropractor. This because Chiropractors are recognised as primary healthcare providers, and you can simply make an appointment to consult with your Perth Chiropractor

How long is each session?

For booking continuity our sessions are booked for set amounts of time. However dependent on the treatment you require, this may vary. Our initial consultations are scheduled for 30 minutes, and any follow up consultations are booked for 15 minutes. If you require extra time in theses consultations, it can be discussed with your practitioner.

How are Chiropractors trained?

In Australia, chiropractors share a common tertiary education pathway with  physiotherapists, with chiropractic education involving undergraduate and/or masters-level university training over a five year period. All of the Chiropractor's at Harrisdale Chiropractic have completed the 5 year double Bachelor's Degree program at Murdoch University. All registered Chiropractors are also required to complete continuing education to maintain their registration.
